Day 1.Arrive Paro – Thimphu sightseeing | Altitude: 2334 m | 56 Km | Drive: 1 hour.

Our guide will meet you at the Paro airport (Flight to Bhutan) and drive to Thimphu. A short stop on the way to view Tamchog lhakhang built in the 15th century by Thang Tong Gyalpo (Popularly known as Iron bridge builder). His surviving bridge can be found in Dungsam in eastern Bhutan.

In the evening, visit Tashichho dzong, seat of the national government and the central monastic body. The grand Thimphu tshechu festival is held in the courtyard of this dzong every September.

Dinner and overnight in Hotel.

Day 2.Thimphu sightseeing | Altitude: 2334 m.

In the morning, visit to: National postal museum, where you can make personalized Bhutanese stamps. Visit national memorial chorten built in the memory of late His Majesty Jigme Dorji Wangchuck.

Then visit the tallest statue of Buddha at Kuensel Phodrang park which stands at 51.5 m.

  • Dupthop nunnery, one of the surviving nunneries in Thimphu.
  • Changangkha monastery, one of the oldest temples in Thimphu founded in the 13th century by Phajo Drugom Shigpo. This temple is the oldest in Thimphu valley.
  • Takin preserve centre.
  • Sangay gang view point.

In the afternoon, witness the archery match at Changlimithang stadium.

In the evening, free to stroll in the town for shopping and photography.

Day 3.Thimphu – Punakha sightseeing | Altitude: 1242 m | 76 Km | Drive: 2 ½ hours.

In the morning, drive to the beautiful Punakha valley.

On the way, visit the 108 stupas at Dochu La Pass (3140 m) where Druk Wangyel festival is held annually on the 13th December.

In the afternoon, visit Punakha dzong built in the 17th century by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. This beautiful dzong situated between Pho chu river and Mo chu river.

In the evening, hike to the awesome Khamsum Yulley monastery perched on a hill top.

Day 4.Punakha – Wangdue Phodrang – Paro sightseeing | Altitude: 2280 m | 132 Km | Drive: 4 hours.

In the morning, we drive to Paro via Wangdue Phodrang valley. Visit the dzong built in 1638 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal.

In the afternoon, visit the Drugyel dzong built in the 17th century by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal

Then visit Kichu lhakhang, one of the oldest temple in Bhutan built in the 7th century by the Tibetan King, Srongtsen Gampo.
