The Paro tshechu festival 2025 in Bhutan will be held at the Rinpung dzong in Paro. Be a part of this grand Paro tshechu festival tour and witness the centuries old festival. The main event of is the Throngdroel ceremony which is held early in the morning of the 5th day. On the last day (fifth day), the 400 years old Thanka (Tapestry) is unfurled from the top of a building. The local people come to get blessed by touching the tapestry with their head. Morning – Hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Choling monastery (20 minutes walk one way).
While in Wangdue Phodrang, view the dzong built in 1638 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal.

The Paro tshechu festival is from 8th – 12th April 2025. The first day of the festival coincides with 10th day of 2nd lunar month of Bhutanese calendar. The Throngdroel ceremony is on the 5th day of the Paro tshechu festival 2025.
