Tourist visa for Bhutan

All tourists traveling to Bhutan should obtain e-Bhutan visa prior to travel to Bhutan. The visa is stamped in the passport at the port of entry in Bhutan by the immigration officials. Please note that Bhutan embassies and consulates abroad do not grant tourist visa. 

6 simple steps to get visitor’s visa for Bhutan:

1. You have to book Bhutan trip with one of the registered local Bhutan tour perator like us.
2. Full payment (100 %) should be made in advance to confirm your Bhutan tour. A wire transfer copy of the payment should be e-mailed to your Bhutan travel agent.
3. The photo page of your passport should be forwarded to your tour operator one month in advance for visa processing. Your local tour operator will submit the visa applications on your behalf to the Department of Immigration, Thimphu. It normally takes a day or two to obtain the e-visa.
4. Please note that the details like names, passport number and address should be clear in the scanned copy. 
5. The Department of Immigration will issue “e-visa” of the tourists to the local tour operator. The same will be e-mailed to the tourists. You have to produce this e-visa when you board your flight to Bhutan.
6. For travelers entering Bhutan by flight, the visa clearance number is forwarded to the concerned overseas Drukair stations.

Duration of Bhutan visa:

The duration of Bhutan visa depends on the duration of trip booked with your travel agency and the validity of the visa is for 3 months from the date of travel.

• Tourist visa fee is US $ 40 per person per trip and the extension fee is US $ 40. 

Validity of passport:

The validity of the passport required is minimum of six months from the date of travel.
